About the Role
As a Community Meals Saturday Catering Assistant at South Gloucestershire Council, you will play a vital role in assisting and preparing nutritious meals for vulnerable members of the community.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the cook with the preparation and cooking of hot and cold food and snacks for lunch and tea time meals.
- Work with the catering team to ensure the food service is on time, served, and packed for distribution in the community.
- Participate in cleaning duties and complete cleaning schedules.
- Have the opportunity to learn new skills to support personal development.
Requirements
- Experience of working in a food preparation environment and exceptional customer service skills.
- Ability to work efficiently and at a sustained pace.
- High standards of cleanliness and hygiene within the workplace.
Working Arrangements
- Hours per Saturday: starting times of either 7.00 am or 8.00 am - with mid-day finish (3.5 hr shift).
- Flexible working arrangements may be available.
- Uniform will be provided.
- Food hygiene and Allergen training will be offered if required.
