About the Role
As a Catering Assistant for our Community Meals service, you will play a vital role in preparing and serving nutritious meals to vulnerable members of our community. Your dedication and hard work will make a real difference in the lives of those we serve.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the cook in the preparation and cooking of hot and cold food and snacks for lunch and tea time meals.
- Work with the catering team to ensure the food service is on time, served, and packed for distribution in the community.
- Participate in cleaning duties and complete cleaning schedules.
- Have the opportunity to learn new skills and develop your career.
What You Need to Know
- Hours: Saturdays, starting times of either 7.00 am or 8.00 am, with a mid-day finish (3.5 hour shift).
- We are flexible and can offer more than one Saturday shift a month if requested.
- Community Meals is a year-round service, including Christmas and Bank holidays.
- Uniform will be provided, and we will offer food hygiene and Allergen training if required.
What We Need from You
- Experience of working in a food preparation environment and exceptional customer service skills.
- The ability to work efficiently and at a sustained pace.
- High standards of cleanliness and hygiene within the workplace.
