About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Air Freight Team Leader to join our team at DHL Global Forwarding. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end Air Freight operations, leading a team of 4 Air Freight Forwarding Agents, and driving performance and delivering exceptional service to our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the movement of pharmaceutical and medical goods across various transport modes
  • Ensure compliance with customer SOPs, temperature requirements, UK GDP regulations, and Customs Compliance
  • Manage and build customer relationships
  • Liaise with carriers, handling agents, transport, warehouse teams, and overseas offices to resolve issues and ensure smooth shipment planning
  • Shipment management using Cargowise
  • Support team development, leading team briefings and conducting staff training when required
Requirements
  • Air Freight experience and knowledge of export operations are essential for this role
  • Experience in supervising or leading a team
  • Knowledge of HMRC procedures (CDS)
  • An understanding of shipping within the life-sciences/medical industry is desirable
  • A high attention to detail and accuracy
  • The ability to prioritise and manage workloads efficiently in a fast-paced office environment
  • Excellent customer relations skills
