We are seeking a highly skilled Critical Care Technician to join our team at RWJBarnabas Health.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing critical care services to patients undergoing cardiac surgery, including intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP) insertion and management, prolonged extracorporeal support, and autotransfusion.

Responsibilities:

  • IABP Management: The critical care technician will assist with IABP insertion, assume responsibility for IABP function in the OR, and transport patients on IABP to the ICU.
  • Prolonged Extracorporeal Support: The critical care technician will maintain CentriMag, AbioMed, Heart Mate, ECMO, or any other assist device, as well as assure adequate inventory of supplies.
  • Autotransfusion: The critical care technician will perform autotransfusion procedures as needed.

Requirements:

  • Education: Completion of training at an accredited school of perfusion technology.
  • Certification: Must be certified or certified-eligible by the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion.

Salary: $90,000 - $120,000 per year.
