About the Job

Adobe Design is seeking a highly skilled Senior Design Engineer to join the Spectrum design system's Platform Engineering team. They will also have extensive knowledge of web accessibility, WAI standards, and WAI testing. Additionally, they will have experience working on fast-paced, multi-person open source projects, with a focus on git and GitHub contribution workflow and in-depth peer code review.

Responsibilities

The Senior Design Engineer will help build and maintain the Spectrum-CSS project, an open-source, framework-agnostic implementation of Spectrum for the web. They will work closely with designers to convert designs into code and participate in the overall Spectrum ecosystem to evolve both design and engineering. They will also be responsible for outreach about Spectrum, discovery around features and improvements, process planning, execution strategy, and validation of accuracy through visual and cross-browser testing.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have deep experience around CSS architecture and practices, solid knowledge of the ecosystem, especially practices for npm package development, versioning, and publishing, and experience working on a fast-paced, multi-person open source project. They will also have a pragmatic, collaborative and open-minded outlook and a high degree of comfort working in an environment with complex demands from multiple stakeholders.
