About the Role

Adobe is seeking a skilled Senior Design Engineer to join our Platform Engineering team. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in building and maintaining the Spectrum-CSS project, an open-source, framework-agnostic implementation of Spectrum for the web.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop complex systems, ensuring high-quality, accessible user experiences
  • Collaborate with designers to convert designs into code, leveraging your expertise in CSS architecture and practices
  • Contribute to the overall Spectrum ecosystem, participating in outreach, discovery, process planning, and validation
  • Lead the development of new features and improvements, working closely with product teams

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience in CSS architecture and practices, including pre and post processors, cross-browser concerns, layout, and animation
  • Extensive knowledge of web accessibility, WAI standards, and WCAG testing
  • Strong understanding of the ecosystem, including npm package development, versioning, and publishing
  • Experience working on fast-paced, multi-person open-source projects, with a focus on git and GitHub contribution workflow
