Software Engineering Lead

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Software Engineering Lead to join Seiko UK Limited at Crewe. As a key member of our software development team, you will play a crucial role in designing and developing sports timing, data capture and data management systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the design and development of next-generation cloud-based data services with emphasis on scalability and reliability.
  • Support the maintenance, optimization and modernization of existing software, ensuring performance and security.
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams and external stakeholders throughout the development lifecycle, from planning to deployment.
  • Support R&D activities and deployment of systems at international sports events.
  • Streamline development processes to reduce complexity and time required for deploying and maintaining services.
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • Experience as a full-stack JavaScript/TypeScript/Node.js developer with exposure to front-end frameworks such as Svelte/React/Angular.
  • Demonstrable experience designing, developing, and modernizing desktop applications.
  • Knowledge of common software architecture patterns, including microservices.
  • Experience designing and developing cloud-based data-intensive applications.
  • Experience with relational and NoSQL databases.
  • Experience working within an Agile environment (KANBAN and/or SCRUM).
  • Understanding of cloud infrastructure and experience of deploying solutions on Azure.
  • Experience of creating automated build and deployment pipelines in Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions or comparable CI/CD tooling.
Working Arrangements:

This role is either Hybrid or Remote with a requirement to attend the office in person in Crewe at least 2 days per month.

The estimated annual salary for this position is £60,000 - £80,000 depending on experience.
