Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Aeronautical Control Room Officer to join our team at the Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA). The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in the expeditious deployment of specialized aircraft in support of Land, Maritime & Aviation Search and Rescue (SAR).

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the response to aviation incidents and SAR aviation asset deployments.
  • Identify, task, and deploy the most suitable SAR aviation asset following requests from authorized coordinating authorities.
  • Assist and support the Duty Supervisor throughout the shift in accordance with Coastguard Information Portal (CIP) instructions.
  • Maintain accurate records of SAR tasking for legal and statistical requirements.
  • Participate in training, exercises, and team assessments to ensure continuous personal development.
Requirements
  • Fully qualified Maritime Operations Officer or relevant experience in an emergency service operations environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Must not have been dismissed by the MCA within the past 24 months for failure to pass required training.
