Transport Operations Specialist

Aspion is currently recruiting for a Transport Operations Specialist
">This role offers the opportunity to work with a large transport business that specialises in abnormal loads and general haulage. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning heavy haulage operations, ensuring all logistical details are accounted for.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan heavy haulage operations manually
- Provide communication link between customers and drivers
- Supervise and manage driver workloads
- Ensure compliance with tachograph regulations
- Coordinate with councils, police, and drivers to organize special orders requiring police escorts
- Plan operations up to 2 weeks in advance
- Keep up to date with transport issues and deal with changes to the day's schedules
- Pre-brief and de-brief drivers on their daily runs
- Manage high-value and complex heavy haulage projects
The ideal candidate will have experience in transport route planning, previous experience of working in a general haulage or abnormal loads operation, and ICT literacy. A good geographic knowledge and ability to question, challenge, and improve upon existing processes are also essential.
Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 (dependent on experience)
Location: Skelmersdale, Lancashire
