Job Title: Staff Scientist

Location: Department of Biochemistry, University of Oxford

We are seeking highly skilled and motivated Staff Scientists to join our team at the University of Oxford. The successful candidates will work closely with the Microscope Facility Manager to ensure the efficient running of the facility, contribute to the maintenance of the equipment, train users, and engage in collaborative research projects.

The Staff Scientists will also work with the Computational team to support them in building and maintaining the servers and providing user support. They will play a crucial and productive role in an outstanding and growing user facility, supporting world-class research.

The two positions advertised have overlapping duties and responsibilities, although one will focus primarily on support for single-particle cryoEM projects, while the other will focus primarily on cryo-tomography and cryoCLEM.

To be successful in this role, you should hold a minimum of a BSc, or the equivalent in a relevant area of science. You should be a well-trained, enthusiastic, and proactive scientist with sufficient specialist knowledge in cryo-electron microscopy to be able to train others and troubleshoot experiments.

We are looking for candidates who are self-motivated, have excellent communication skills, and are able to work effectively in a team.
