About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Youth Worker to join our team in Liverpool. As a Youth Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting young people who have experienced trauma, helping them to navigate their challenges and build resilience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored support: Work closely with young people to understand their needs and develop personalized support plans to help them achieve their goals.
  • De-escalation techniques: Utilize evidence-based de-escalation techniques to manage challenging behaviors and create a safe and supportive environment for all students.
  • Pastoral care: Offer guidance and mentorship to young people, acting as a trusted advocate and support system.
  • Engagement and motivation: Develop and implement creative strategies to engage students in their education and personal development, helping them to stay motivated and on track.
  • Collaboration and teamwork: Work closely with other staff members to create and implement strategies that meet the unique needs of each student.
  • Initiative and problem-solving: Identify areas where students need additional support and develop effective interventions to address these needs.

Desired Qualifications and Experience:

  • Experience working with trauma: Previous experience working with young people who have experienced trauma or display challenging behaviors.
  • De-escalation techniques and pastoral care: Familiarity with evidence-based de-escalation techniques and pastoral care practices.
  • Alternative Provision experience: Experience working in an Alternative Provision setting is highly desirable but not essential.
  • Commitment to youth development: A strong commitment to helping young people achieve their best, regardless of the challenges they face.
  • Independence and teamwork: Ability to work independently and as part of a team, using your own initiative to support students effectively.
