About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Family Support Specialist to join our team at Turning Point. As a Family Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in supporting families affected by substance use issues. Your primary responsibility will be to develop and implement personalized support plans that cater to the unique needs of each family.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with families, providing emotional support and guidance throughout their recovery journey.
  • Conduct thorough assessments to identify the needs of each family, developing tailored support plans that address their specific requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with other professionals, including social workers, healthcare providers, and community organizations, to ensure a comprehensive and coordinated approach to family support.
  • Provide education and training to families on substance use, recovery, and related topics, empowering them to make informed decisions about their lives.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of support plans, making adjustments as needed to ensure optimal outcomes for families.

Requirements

  • Experience working with families affected by substance use issues, preferably in a community-based setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with families from diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to collaboration and coordination.
  • Knowledge of substance use, recovery, and related topics, with a willingness to continue learning and professional development.
  • Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle, with the ability to travel throughout Oxfordshire.
