About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Biomedical Scientist to join our team in the Virology laboratory at Hull site of York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing diagnostic work on patient samples, utilizing manual and automated techniques.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely handling blood, respiratory samples, and other patient samples.
- Ensuring that reagents are prepared, stored, and used according to manufacturer guidelines and laboratory procedures.
- Performing manual, semi-automated, and fully automated laboratory investigations.
- Measuring and monitoring the quality of laboratory investigations using appropriate internal and external quality procedures.
- Taking corrective action when quality control or assurance procedures indicate loss of performance of the laboratory instruments or methods.
