Kingston upon Hull, United Kingdom Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust Full time

The three Partner Trusts (Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, Northern Lincolnshire & Goole NHS Foundation Trust and York &
Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust) have set an objective of creating a single procurement function to help support the
sustainable provision of clinical and non-clinical services.
A newly formed Humber & North Yorkshire Procurement Collaborative, hosted by Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, will provide
procurement and supply chain services to its Partner Trusts, and may extend over time to service other bodies within the Integrated Care System.

You will work as a Senior Buyer across all Partner Trusts as a credible procurement lead providing advice and guidance to clinical and corporate colleagues. You will act as a trusted procurement professional encouraging collaboration between Care Groups and Procurement across all Partner Trusts to maximise procurement and commercial outcomes for the patients in our care.

You will advise users and budget holders on procurement policies and procedures and will undertake purchasing activity for medium/high value contracts. Working independently within policies and procedures you will undertake a range of procurement activity but will have the ability to escalate any concerns where required.

Flexible working is promoted, you will be expected to manage time efficiently to meet deadlines and achieve objectives.

You will provide professional advice to users on specific procurement projects across all three trusts, presenting the procurement collaborative as a progressive, responsive and innovative group who provide new thinking which works collaboratively to positively influence others perception concerning the value of effective and efficient procurement services.

Deliver and report on financial savings and value for money through procurement projects to achieve target financial savings.

You will manage the performance of 4-8 (depending upon care group) procurement professionals, supporting them in meeting their development needs.

balance and support the creation of new and existing teams.

You may want to take time reflecting about how you might support us to:
1. Get procurement closer to our customer.
2. Move as close to a single way of working across all three trust.
3. Build category strategies which consider how appropriate it is to buy as one versus those instances where buying locally gives us the best outcome.
4. Challenge how we buy - is it right or could we do things differently?
5. Explore and embed innovation.
6. Ensure there is earlier engagement with our customers to make a difference.
7. Support standardisation.

Hull University Teaching Hospitals is part of one of the largest acute and community Group arrangements in the NHS, seeing well over one million patients every year and managing a budget of over £1.3 billion.

Made up of two Trusts - Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust (HUTH) and Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust (NLAG) - our Group has significant ambitions and is committed to delivering world-class hospital and community services for the 1.65 million people we serve.

Together we employ nearly 20,000 staff. Our five main hospital sites, are Hull Royal Infirmary and Castle Hill Hospital for HUTH and Diana, Princess of Wales Hospital, Scunthorpe General Hospital and Goole and District Hospital, for NLaG.

As Teaching Hospitals working with the Hull York Medical School, we both lead and contribute to research in many areas - biomedical research, primary care, palliative medicine, cardiovascular and respiratory medicine, vascular surgery, cancer surgery and oncology.

We believe that by developing a diverse, inclusive, innovative, skilled and caring workforce, we can deliver excellent care to our patients and a great future for our employees, our Group and our community.

Supporting Humber & North Yorkshire Procurement Collaborative in delivering its 10 aims and objectives:

3. Establishes the collaborative as a centre of procurement and commercial excellence which provides procurement and commercial services
4. Supports supplier rationalisation and cost savings.
5. Ensures standardised robust product selection and range management practices are in place.
6. Ensures that policies, practices and procedures are standardised and provide for the effective provision of procurement to the
collaborative trusts.
7. Ensures innovative and robust Supplier Relationship Management (SRM).
8. Develops P2P e-commerce processes and systems to ensure smooth and efficient processing for all purchasing requirements.
