Job summary

The Vascular department in Hull are looking to recruit an experienced Vascular Scientist to join the team to work alongside the two existing vascular scientists and 10 Vascular Consultants

The Department of Vascular Surgery is a Trust-wide service based at Hull Royal Infirmary. There is a dedicated vascular laboratory service consisting of five clinical rooms .The lab also offers CPEX testing and has a National AAA Screening Programme that runs alongside the department.

The laboratory workload includes carotid and vertebral artery duplex, upper and lower limb arterial and venous duplex, AAA surveillance, bypass graft surveillance and ankle-brachial pressure measurements. The work will be a mixture of dedicated own scan lists as well as participating with the wider team in 'hot' clinics and ulcer clinics.

Excellent clinical skills and experience are essential. Full accreditation (AVS) with the Society for Vascular Technology of Great Britain and Ireland, or equivalent, are highly desirable. Professional registration (such as HCPC registration or AVS accreditation) is also desirable though we would consider candidates with sufficient clinical experience who are actively working towards accreditation.

Consideration will be given to individuals nearing SVT accreditation will be considered on a lower pay band

Main duties of the job

The Vascular department in Hull are looking to recruit an experienced Vascular Scientist to join our team on a flexible basis to work alongside our existing two vascular scientists.

The experienced candidate must hold relevant degree and be fully qualified as an Accredited Clinical Vascular Scientist

You will be expected to carry out and independently report the full range of investigations, including Carotid artery duplex, upper and lower limb arterial and venous Duplex, graft surveillance and aortic aneurysm surveillance.

The Vascular Laboratory team work closely with the 10 Vascular Consultants, Consultant Radiologists. Vascular Specialist Nurses and the multidisciplinary team in the vascular department.
