An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly skilled and experienced HCPC registered Biomedical Scientist to contribute to the development of our immunocytochemistry and molecular service at the University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust.
Main Responsibilities- Perform complex examinations of clinical specimens, interpreting results and providing expert advice to healthcare professionals.
- Lead on teaching, training, and developing staff in designated fields, with a focus on specialist techniques and procedures.
- Deputise for the Deputy Service Manager as required, and perform other duties covered by the post holder's competencies.
This post is pivotal in driving forward the development of our immunocytochemistry and molecular service, with a focus on faster diagnostics and implementation of tests directly related to treatment options for patients.
The successful candidate will have proven experience in routine and specialist Histopathology techniques, with a strong background in Immunocytochemistry and molecular diagnostics. They will be able to motivate and drive forward a team carrying out specialist work on a wide range of sample types.
