Community Engagement Officer

We are seeking a skilled Community Engagement Officer to join our team at Platform Housing Group. As a Community Engagement Officer, you will play a vital role in building strong and safe communities by working closely with customers to identify local issues and develop solutions.
This is a part-time role working 17.5 hours per week, requiring travel around a geographical area that includes Stratford-Upon-Avon, West Oxfordshire, West Northamptonshire, Stroud, Cheltenham, and Gloucester. A full UK driving licence and ability to travel across the locality are essential.
Key Responsibilities- Establish contact with individuals and groups from all sections of the community through meetings and outreach work.
- Identify local issues and work together with customers to develop solutions.
- Support and manage community-based programmes to promote a healthy and happy environment for all our customers.
- Organise and develop a wide range of community engagement activities in line with our strategic objectives.
- Previous experience working within a community-based role or role that was directly involved in supporting projects and programmes designed to help people and communities grow.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with external stakeholders.
- Understanding of the unique challenges faced within social housing and our beliefs and values as an organisation.
- Proven ability to actively identify new ways to engage successfully with customers and communities.
- Up to 28 days annual leave (plus bank holidays) with the opportunity to buy and sell leave.
