About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Technician in Hitchin ADM Downside X3 roles. As a Technician, you will play a critical part in maintaining the daily upkeep of the rail network, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the railway.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work outdoors in a team environment, supporting essential maintenance to keep the railway running safely and smoothly for passengers and freight users.
  • Develop and maintain technical skills in inspection, faulting, maintenance, and renewal techniques in the discipline of Track.
  • Lead the team when required, using your skills to deliver work safely and ensuring the team has the right competencies to meet our strict safety standards.
  • Contribute to the development of the team, providing guidance and support to colleagues.
  • Participate in training and development programs to enhance your skills and competencies.
Requirements
  • Leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and direct a team for safe and efficient work delivery.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to deliver clear instructions to the team and other colleagues.
  • Technical skills, with knowledge and experience of inspection, faulting, maintenance, and renewal techniques in the discipline of Track.
  • Safety skills, with the ability to consistently role model safe behaviours and challenge potential risks to safety.
  • Problem-solving skills, with the ability to find safe and effective solutions to issues.
  • Willingness to learn and develop your skills and competencies.
  • Relevant qualification, such as an NVQ Level 1 or 2 linked to the discipline of Track, or equivalent level of relevant experience.
