Operative Track Maintenance Specialist

About the Role
As a Track Maintenance Operative with Network Rail, you will play a critical part in ensuring the daily upkeep of the rail network. Your role will involve working outdoors in a small team, supporting essential maintenance to keep the railway running safely and efficiently for passengers and freight users.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect and maintain the land alongside the track network to keep the railway safe and efficient.
- Perform vegetation management, drainage, and ancillary structures maintenance.
- Work in all weather conditions, at all times of the year, day or night.
- Be involved in demanding manual work, often transporting kit across tricky terrain.
- Be safety-focused, respectful of rules, and a team player, working next to moving trains traveling at high speed.
What You'll Need
- Good team-working skills, with the ability to work closely with the team to deliver safe and efficient work delivery.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to work safely and effectively.
- Punctuality, with the van and equipment ready, and anticipating the needs of the team.
- The ability to remain calm under pressure, working outdoors in all conditions, and with trains passing close by.
- The ability to follow rules and instructions, with confidence to challenge if you see a situation is unsafe.
- A willingness to learn, consistently developing your skills and competencies relevant to your discipline.

Requirements
- A driving licence (category B) to drive Network Rail vehicles.
- Be within a 60-minute commute of the location you're applying for.
- Pass a medical assessment and BPSS pre-employment checks.
