Ambulance Driver

Barts Health NHS Trust is seeking a motivated and experienced Ambulance Driver to join the Non-Emergency Patient Transport Service (NEPTS) team. As an Ambulance Driver, you will play a key role in providing a safe and timely transport service for patients requiring transport to and from the Trust's hospitals.
Main Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Transferring patients to and from their vehicle using a variety of equipment based on the patient's mobility needs
- Ensuring that vehicles are maintained in a clean and tidy manner, reporting any defects or accidents
- Conducting dynamic risk assessments of patients and/or their environment before transportation
- Coordinating, reviewing, and interpreting patient transfer requirements
- Reporting incidents and near misses, and sharing adequate handover information
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A clean driving license
- Previous experience of working in a healthcare setting, dealing with the elderly or infirm
- Experience of working within a Patient Transport environment
- Understanding of Data Protection, Freedom of Information, and Caldicott principles
- Ability to work on own initiative, organizing and prioritizing own and others' workloads to changing and often tight deadlines
