Job Location: Dawlish

Salary: Between £20,204 and £21,188 per annum, based on working 37.5 hours per week, term time only (39.6 weeks per year)

As a Learning Support Assistant - Autism and ADHD Specialist, you will play a vital role in supporting young people (Aged 16+) living with Autism, ADHD, and other disabilities that impact their education.

Our curriculum is designed to focus on life skills, learning programmes, work experience, Maths and English skills, and other activities to enrich the learners' experiences. With a small class size of between 5 and 7 learners, you will have the opportunity to build meaningful relationships and make a real difference in their lives.

A Day in the Life:

  • Assisting teaching staff in all classroom activities, including planning, teaching, and assessing learning.
  • Working closely with students to keep them engaged, motivated, and inspired to reach their full potential.
  • Providing one-to-one or small group support to help learners achieve their learning goals.

Requirements:

  • Patience, compassion, and resilience to support learners with Autism and ADHD.
  • Excellent communication skills to work with a variety of people and update learner plans.
  • A driving licence to transport learners on field trips.
  • A genuine interest in a career focused on the education of people with Autism and other neurodiversity and disabilities.
