About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Scrub Practitioner to join our team in the Operating Department. As a key member of our surgical team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality care to patients undergoing orthopaedic surgeries.

Your primary responsibility will be to prepare and maintain the sterile field, ensuring a safe and efficient operating environment. You will work closely with surgeons, anaesthetists, and other theatre staff to ensure seamless coordination during surgeries.

In addition to your technical skills, you will be expected to demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and maintain the sterile field for orthopaedic surgeries
  • Assist the surgical team with precision and attention to detail
  • Collaborate with surgeons, anaesthetists, and other theatre staff to ensure optimal surgical outcomes
  • Accurately record details of the surgical procedure, including instruments used and counts
Requirements
  • Registered Nurse or Operating Department Practitioner with valid registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) or Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
  • Previous experience as a Scrub Practitioner in a hospital setting, with specific competence in scrubbing for orthopaedic surgeries
