About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our Major Trauma Service team at Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments and risk management plans for patients referred to the major trauma team.
  • Provide timely and effective mental health interventions, including brief interventions and treatment plans.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality mental health services, aligned with the trust's vision and values.
  • Develop and maintain close links with local mental health services and other agencies to ensure effective care plans.
  • Contribute to research and data collection, supporting the advancement of best practice in mental health care.
  • Provide education and support to relatives and carers to help them support patients.
  • Work closely with discharge planning teams to ensure smooth transitions to onward mental health facilities.
  • Engage in educational and training events to stay up-to-date with the latest research and best practices.
Requirements
  • Highly skilled and experienced Clinical Nurse Specialist with expertise in mental health and trauma care.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Knowledge of mental health legislation and regulations, including the Mental Health Act 1983.
