We are seeking a highly motivated individual to support the Neurosurgery team at King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust as a Healthcare Administration Apprentice. In this role, you will play a crucial part in delivering high-quality patient care and services by assisting with various administrative tasks.

Job Description

This apprenticeship provides hands-on experience of essential administrative tasks within the Neurosurgery Department. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing waiting lists, admission data, and patient bookings to ensure smooth clinic operations;
  • Communicating effectively with patients via telephone and responding to queries in a professional manner;
  • Working closely with the multidisciplinary team, consultants, nurses, and administrative staff to support the delivery of high-quality patient care;
  • Carrying out general administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and maintaining patient records, ensuring all documentation is accurate and confidential;
  • Adhering to hospital policies, including health and safety, infection control, and patient confidentiality.

This apprenticeship offers structured learning and development opportunities to help you grow professionally and gain practical skills. You will have access to mentorship from senior clinical staff, regular reviews, and training modules related to patient care, healthcare administration, and neurosurgical procedures.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • Maths and English grades A-C or equivalent;
  • Experience of running and maintaining computerised databases;
  • Able to work consistently with minimal supervision.
