Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Fire Safety Trainer to join our team at University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust. As a key member of our fire safety team, you will be responsible for delivering fire safety training across the organisation, ensuring compliance with fire safety standards and regulations.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Deliver fire safety training to clinical and non-clinical staff, including fire wardens and the safe use of fire extinguishers.
  2. Assist with other administrative tasks as required, consistent with the job description.
  3. Conduct regular inspections of premises to ensure compliance with fire safety standards.
  4. Manage records of training activity and staff attendance.
  5. Ensure fire alarms, first aid fire fighting equipment, and escape lighting are regularly maintained and tested.
  6. Ensure fire exits and fire escapes are regularly maintained and remain free from obstruction.
  7. Advise external contractors on fire precautions and prevention.
  8. Prepare fire incident reports as necessary.
Requirements
  • Experience in delivering face-to-face training sessions.
  • Experience of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Internet.
  • Knowledge of work procedures and practices, including specialised IT systems.
  • NVQ Level 4 or Diploma in a relevant field or equivalent.
