Fire Safety Training Specialist

At University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust, we are committed to providing a safe and healthy environment for our staff and patients. As a Fire Safety Training Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our organization meets the highest standards of fire safety.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver fire safety training to staff throughout the University Hospital of North Midlands, including clinical and non-clinical staff, fire wardens, and the safe use of ski pads.

Arrange fire drills and practical demonstrations of the use of first aid firefighting equipment, in liaison with appropriate managers and agreed programme of work.

Manage records of training activity and staff attendance to support data collation and reporting Trust and Divisional wide.

Undertake regular inspections of all premises to ensure compliance with fire safety standards in accordance with current legislation/guidance (including Firecode).

Ensure that fire alarms, first aid firefighting equipment, and escape lighting are regularly maintained and tested.

Ensure that fire exits and fire escapes are regularly maintained and remain free from obstruction in liaison with responsible persons.

Ensure that appropriate fire safety notices are prominently displayed in all Trust premises and arrange for replacements or updates as required.

Maintain records of all fire survey/inspection activity.

Advise external contractors on fire precautions/preventions.

Prepare fire incident reports as necessary and maintain appropriate records.

Undertake other reasonable duties as may be delegated from time to time by the Trust Fire and Security Manager.
