Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with behavioural challenges, implementing strategies to promote positive behaviour and emotional well-being.
  • Be a key point of contact for managing and de-escalating behavioural incidents, working collaboratively with teaching staff and other support professionals to ensure a safe and secure learning environment.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other stakeholders to develop and implement individualized behaviour plans.
  • Offer mentorship and guidance to students, helping them develop social skills, emotional resilience, and effective conflict resolution strategies.
  • Work closely with teaching staff, school psychologists, and external professionals to create a holistic support system for students with behavioural challenges.
  • Regularly assess and report on the progress of students, providing valuable insights to inform ongoing support strategies.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a similar role, demonstrating a deep understanding of behavioural support strategies and crisis intervention.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential for effective collaboration with teaching staff, students, and parents.
  • A strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection is required, and successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks, including an enhanced DBS on the update service.
