Job Title: Manager, Financial Management

At American Express, we're committed to creating a career journey that's unique and meaningful to you. As a Manager, Financial Management, you'll play a critical role in establishing the Operational Risk and Controls strategy for our Global Services Group (GSG) Control Management Governance team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Advise on execution plans for operational risk management within the business unit, including guidelines, project plans, and regulatory adherence.
  • Develop and implement the operational risk framework to enable effective risk management and decision-making.
  • Facilitate the understanding and use of the risk governance framework across business units through regular communication and training.
  • Manage the day-to-day internal and external exam management process, working with Enterprise functions.
  • Ensure the integration of regulatory changes and updates into the Operational Risk framework and training materials.
Requirements:
  • 3+ years of experience in operational risk management, with a strong understanding of critical operational risk management lifecycle activities.
  • Strong project management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in process governance, with an understanding of processes that align with policies, regulatory frameworks, and operational standards.
  • Proficient analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze data, identify trends, and evaluate risk scenarios effectively.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Business, Risk Management, or a related field; MBA, MSc, or certifications are advantageous.
  • Experience in the financial services industry.
