Wildlife Care Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Wildlife Care Specialist to join our Hoofstock team at Chessington World of Adventures Resort. As a key member of our animal care team, you will be responsible for delivering the highest standards of animal husbandry for a variety of species, including zebra, giraffe, rhino, and domestic species such as donkey, goat, and sheep.

Your primary focus will be on planning, evaluating, and executing environmental enrichment for the animals under your care, ensuring their physical and mental well-being. You will also be responsible for delivering first-class and memorable experiences to our guests through educational talks and experiences, using positive reinforcement to train animals for various husbandry behaviors.

As a Wildlife Care Specialist, you will be part of a team that creates a stimulating environment for both animals and guests. You will ensure the health and safety of yourself, colleagues, and our guests is your top priority at all times. You will also contribute to our conservation, education, and research efforts, supporting other areas within the zoo to benefit your own personal development.

Requirements
  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience working in a zoo environment or equivalent.
  • A clear and confident speaker, able to engage with the public and deliver fun and educational presentations.
  • A passion for animal care and a keen drive to develop your career as an animal keeper.
