Care Home Chef

West Northamptonshire Council is seeking a skilled Cook to join our team at the Specialist Care Centre in Kingsthorpe, Northampton. As a key member of our kitchen team, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking meals for our residents, ensuring high-quality food that meets their dietary needs and preferences.
Working 12 hours per week, you will be part of a rotating roster covering 9am-1pm, four weeks in a row, with two weekends out of four. This role requires flexibility to cover holidays and absences.
Your Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook meals for residents, adhering to dietary requirements and preferences.
- Liaise with suppliers to order and receive goods.
- Support other experienced kitchen staff.
- Ensure health and safety standards are met in the kitchen.
- Assist with modified textured diets as needed.
About You
- You will bring or be willing to work towards a basic food hygiene certificate.
- You will appreciate the importance of understanding and respecting residents' backgrounds and beliefs related to food choices.
- You will ensure all dietary requirements are understood and met.
- Management of staff and a kitchen environment is required.
