Data Center Pre-Construction Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Pre-Construction Manager to join our team at Amazon Data Services UK Limited - E17. As a key member of our construction team, you will play a critical role in the delivery of our data center projects.
Key Responsibilities- Drive practical constructability standards in design documentation.
- Provide input into global standards and data center template designs.
- Perform civil evaluations for potential sites.
- Act as the point of escalation for complex constructability issues.
- Conduct negotiations with general contractors and evaluate bids/proposals with detail and accuracy.
- Create construction project scope and request for proposals.
- Financial analysis of construction.
- Constructability reviews of electrical and mechanical designs associated with the construction of new data centers or optimization of existing data centers.
- Review bid summaries, schedules and milestones, labor pricing, and perform subcontractor evaluations.

Requirements- Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Structural, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- 10+ years of experience in data center delivery (design, commissioning and construction).
- 10+ years of detailed knowledge of critical data center equipment (Generators, Uninterruptible Power Supplies, Switchgear, Transformers, Power Feeders, Chillers, Plumbing, Fire Detection/Suppression, Air Handling Units, Computer Room Air Handling/Conditioning Units, UPS, CRAH, CRAC).
- 10+ years of experience developing and presenting business case analysis to senior leadership.
- Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, maintain high quality standards.
