About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Employment Advisor to join our team at Dorset HealthCare University NHS Foundation Trust. As an Employment Advisor, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with mental health problems to remain in, return to, and gain employment.

The successful candidate will work closely with our clinical teams to deliver dedicated employment support, providing therapy and guidance to individuals to help them achieve their employment goals. This is a unique opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of our patients and contribute to the prevention and early intervention of mental health issues.

The post holder will be required to work one evening per week, 12pm to 8pm, and will have access to comprehensive training and service experience to equip them with the necessary knowledge, attitude, and capabilities to operate effectively in an inclusive, value-driven service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver dedicated employment support to individuals with mental health problems
  • Work closely with clinical teams to provide therapy and guidance
  • Develop and maintain relationships with local employers and community groups
  • Provide training and support to colleagues on employment-related issues
Requirements
  • NVQ level 3 minimum or equivalent
  • Evidence of further study in vocational training, careers advice, job retention, and presenteeism or equivalent experience gained through work in the field
