Pharmacy Technician

South Lincoln Healthcare is seeking a skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our Clinical Pharmacy Team. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and effective use of medicines in our primary care settings.
Main ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Supporting Clinical Pharmacists in delivering safe, effective, and efficient systems for repeat prescribing, medicines optimisation, waste reduction, and maximising patient outcomes.
- Responding to medicines-related queries and requests, and reconciling medicines post-discharge from hospital, intermediate care, and into care homes.
- Developing and implementing robust systems for shared care prescribing, high-risk drug monitoring, and drug monitoring for optimisation of Long-Term Conditions (LTCs).
South Lincoln Healthcare is a forward-thinking Federation of 7 GP practices, covering a population of just under 50,000 patients in the South Lincoln Healthcare Primary Care Network area.

Person SpecificationThe ideal candidate will possess:
- Advanced theoretical and practical knowledge of evidence-based medicine.
- Awareness of systems to support management of patients in a primary care setting, delivering pharmaceutical input and support in the context of pathways of care and the business of the organisation(s).
- Good clinical pharmacy knowledge, including terminology.
- Knowledge and understanding of pharmacy law and ethics and current legislation.
- Computer literacy, with the ability to use Microsoft Office programs, such as Word and Excel, competently, with some experience of other programs in the Microsoft Office package.
- Understanding of the aims of current healthcare policy within the PCN.
- Able to analyse and interpret prescribing data.
- Has attention to detail, able to work accurately, identifying errors quickly and easily.
- Able to effectively manage allocated resources.
- Has a planned and organised approach, with an ability to prioritise their own workload to meet strict deadlines.
- Able to think analytically; anticipating obstacles and thinking ahead; using analytical techniques to draw logical solutions to problems.
- Excellent communication skills, verbal and written, with the ability to adjust communication style and content to suit the audience.
- Influencing and negotiating skills.
- An excellent understanding of data protection and confidentiality issues.
Please note that the completion of a CPPE pathway diploma is preferred.
