Principal Marine Environmental Consultant - Offshore Wind

TetraTech RPS Energy is seeking a skilled Principal Marine Environmental Consultant - EIA – Offshore Wind to join our dynamic Marine Consenting team. This role will involve delivering client projects in the UK and internationally, with a focus on Offshore Wind and other offshore/coastal sectors.

We offer a flexible working arrangement, allowing you to work from our offices in Edinburgh, Woking, Chepstow, Aberdeen or London. You can also take advantage of our part-time roles, ensuring a balance between family and working life.

We are at the forefront of the industry, delivering offshore infrastructure projects in complex marine environments. Our experienced marine consenting and environment team has been selected as the lead Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and Habitats Regulations Assessments (HRA) consultant for major projects, including Orsted's Hornsea One, Two and Three, and Scotland's largest offshore wind farm SSE's Berwick Bank.

Your Role:

You will work on and manage a range of EIAs on large-scale marine and coastal infrastructure projects, focusing on Offshore Wind, Renewables and Energy Transition across the UK and Ireland. Key responsibilities include:

  • Coordination and delivery of EIAs
  • Marine consents management and compliance
  • Technical review and delivery of reports
  • Building relationships with statutory consultees and other groups/members of the public
  • Steering client projects through marine consenting and environmental assessment complexities
  • Mentoring junior colleagues to enhance their skills.
Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • A degree in a relevant environmental subject and potentially an MSc in a related field, e.g., Environmental Impact Assessment or similar
  • Experience working in a consultancy environment, including managing EIA projects
  • Teamwork experience, including collaboration with technical specialists and environmental stakeholders
  • Experience communicating information effectively to diverse audiences through high-quality written work and oral presentations
