Job Description

Job Title: Operations Specialist

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Operations Specialist to join our team at oilandgas. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the Project Operations Manager in planning and executing operations related to our largest projects worldwide.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and consolidate inputs from multiple disciplines to support operational planning.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve offshore schedules and optimize client constraints.
  • Define requirements and produce Statements of Work (SOW) for 3rd party vessels and assets chartering/hiring.
  • Liaise with Engineering and Vessel Operations Managers to define vessel POBs and provide input to Estimators.
  • Organize and host meetings with disciplines to facilitate offshore schedule reviews.
  • Identify and update key Operations-related risks throughout the project.

Project Support:

  • Prepare, review, and comment on Technical Documents (procedures, drawings, rigging and seafastenings design, schedules, etc.).
  • Participate in the definition of required offshore spreads for projects/tenders, including construction vessels, support, and transportation vessels.
  • Liaise with Supply Chain Management to select 3rd party vessels and operations-related services and assets.
  • Participate in installation feasibility reviews and HIRAs, providing operational input to Engineering and Planning functions.
  • Drive and monitor the progress of Marine Assurance on assigned vessels, including organizing audits as required.
  • Review vessels POBs (including project personnel and 3rd parties) and organize the manning of chartered vessels with the support of Crewing.
  • Ensure that installation spreads have full support, in terms of Logistics, Transportation, Safety, and Certification, etc.
  • Support the Project Operations Manager in developing the baseline Project schedule.
  • Track and monitor 3rd party services costs and planning.
  • Assist Project/Field Engineers on vessel readiness and during mobilization and demobilization activities.
  • Ensure that project equipment is mobilized/demobilized in an efficient and timely fashion.
  • Supervise material tracking activity through the project's material tracker, ensuring equipment inspection, readiness, delivery, tracking, and demobilization.
  • Assist in the coordination of logistic support activities, including Freight Forwarding, Shipping, and On-Plot Logistics, through the in-country logistic organization.
  • Provide input to the Project Operations Debrief Report and to the lessons learned.

Requirements:

  • Experience in offshore operations, having worked on board installation vessels.
  • Solid offshore experience as Field Engineer, Installation Engineer, or Logistics.
  • Able to demonstrate commitment to Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) and keen to promote safe practices.
  • A strong work ethic, willing to work in highly changeable environments, meeting tight deadlines while delivering high-quality outcomes.
  • Mobility to travel to all international locations for short business trips or missions.
  • Fluent in English; knowledge of French/Portuguese would be an advantage.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience with Microsoft Project recommended but not essential.
