About the Role: We are seeking an experienced Learning Support Assistant to support students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in a small, high needs secondary school.

Job Summary: The ideal candidate will provide tailored support to secondary-aged pupils with various additional needs, working closely with teaching staff to ensure students' individual learning plans are met.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized support to pupils with diverse needs, adapting your approach to meet their emotional, social, and educational requirements.
  • Collaborate with teaching personnel to develop and implement effective learning plans that cater to each student's unique needs.
  • Build strong relationships with students based on trust, encouragement, and empathy, helping them develop academically and personally.

Requirements:

  • Prior experience working with children who have special educational needs (SEN), particularly in a secondary school setting.
  • A resilient, adaptive, and encouraging approach to supporting students with diverse needs.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build rapport with vulnerable pupils.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teaching personnel and other support staff.
