Electrical and Mechanical Engineering Job:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Explosives Manager - Regulatory Compliance to join our team at Electus Recruitment. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with statutory regulations, particularly COMAH, to maintain production capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain safe systems of work, processes, and controls for all OME.
  • Support audits and inspections with HSE and other relevant bodies.
  • Audit the management and control of explosive items/stock on-site.
  • Support site COMAH compliance activities.
  • Maintain a level of knowledge and understanding of explosives and health and safety regulations.
  • Support site and process improvements from an explosives safety perspective.
  • Train personnel on matters of explosive safety.
  • Review health and safety audit and test reports.
  • Provide cover for the Explosives Safety Authority Manufacturing Manager.

Requirements:

  • Degree qualified or equivalent experience in an Explosives related field.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of general Health and Safety legislation.
  • Demonstrable knowledge and understanding of explosives licencing legislation.
  • Practical experience and expertise in the control and handling of OME.
  • Good understanding of Project Management.
  • Strong negotiating and influencing skills.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
