Job Title: Head of Service

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated professional to join our team as a Head of Service at CareTech Group. As a senior leader in our specialist mental health services, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of our children's residential home and educational provision.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a multi-disciplinary team, including our on-site clinical team and teachers, to support the care and education of children aged 12-18 years with complex mental health needs. You will work closely with our regional manager to develop the service and support the wider needs of the site.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement high-quality care plans that meet the individual needs of each child
  • Establish and monitor standards of care, ensuring the well-being and safety of our residents
  • Designate safeguarding lead, responsible for directing and supporting others in the home
  • Manage complaints and child protection concerns, working in partnership with parents, carers, and other professionals
  • Ensure adequate staffing levels and effective budget management
  • Develop the service, working alongside our multi-disciplinary team to enhance the care and support we offer
Requirements
  • Proven experience in children's mental health and practices
  • At least 1 year at supervisory capacity in a relevant setting
  • Full enhanced children's and adults DBS required
  • Ability to manage challenging behavior and support a team to understand self-injurious behaviors
  • Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, supporting care colleagues, clinicians, and school staff
  • Ability to manage a team of over 70 staff, with the support of own management team
