Job Title: Ecologist

Location: Southern Region

Salary: Circa £32,000

Penguin Recruitment is seeking a dedicated Ecologist to support the growth of a rapidly expanding, family-owned contracting firm that excels in rail, forestry, and environmental services.

In this full-time, permanent position, you will play a vital role in delivering ecological services across a variety of engaging projects. Your responsibilities will include conducting Ecological Site Surveys, preparing Preliminary Ecological Assessments, and aiding in Ecological Impact and Habitat Regulation Assessments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting Ecological Site Surveys and Preliminary Ecological Assessments
  • Aiding in Ecological Impact and Habitat Regulation Assessments
  • Carrying out and assisting with Protected Species Surveys
  • Data analysis, report preparation, and mitigation strategy development

Requirements:

  • Experience in ecological assessments, including PEAs and species surveys
  • Knowledge of UK protected species and relevant legislation
  • Proficiency with GIS or mapping software
  • Excellent organisational, analytical, and report-writing skills
  • Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel across the southern region
