Job Summary

Harvard University seeks a highly skilled and experienced Chief Communications and Marketing Officer to lead the development and implementation of strategic communications and marketing initiatives that promote the university's mission, values, and brand. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of success in creating and executing effective communications and marketing campaigns that engage diverse audiences and drive business results.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive communications and marketing strategy that aligns with the university's goals and objectives.
  • Lead a team of communications and marketing professionals to create and execute campaigns that promote the university's brand and reputation.
  • Collaborate with senior leaders and stakeholders to develop and implement communications and marketing plans that support the university's strategic initiatives.
  • Manage and maintain the university's brand identity and ensure consistency across all communications channels.
  • Develop and implement digital communications strategies that engage and retain students, faculty, staff, and alumni.
  • Manage and maintain the university's website and social media presence.
  • Develop and implement crisis communications plans to ensure timely and effective response to crises.
  • Manage and maintain the university's communications budget and ensure effective use of resources.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in communications, marketing, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in communications and marketing, preferably in a higher education setting.
  • Proven track record of success in creating and executing effective communications and marketing campaigns.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with senior leaders, stakeholders, and team members.
