Job Title: Chief Communications and Marketing Officer

Harvard University seeks a highly skilled and innovative Chief Communications and Marketing Officer to lead the development and implementation of strategic communications and marketing initiatives that promote the university's mission, values, and brand.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute comprehensive communications and marketing plans to engage diverse audiences and promote the university's academic programs, research, and community engagement initiatives.
  • Lead a team of communications and marketing professionals to create and disseminate compelling content across various channels, including social media, email, and traditional media.
  • Collaborate with senior leaders and faculty to develop messaging and communications strategies that align with the university's goals and objectives.
  • Manage and maintain the university's brand identity, including visual and verbal elements, to ensure consistency and coherence across all communications channels.
  • Develop and implement crisis communications and issues management plans to mitigate potential risks and maintain a positive reputation for the university.
  • Monitor and analyze metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of communications and marketing initiatives and make data-driven decisions to optimize future efforts.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in Communications, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in communications and marketing, with a proven track record of success in developing and executing strategic communications and marketing plans.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling content and messaging that resonates with diverse audiences.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team of communications and marketing professionals.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with senior leaders, faculty, and staff to achieve shared goals and objectives.
