Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Buyer to join our Commercial team at the John Lewis Partnership. As a Buyer, you will play a key role in driving commercial performance and delivering exceptional results.

About the Role:

  • Work collaboratively with the Category Pod team to deliver shared KPIs and individual accountabilities.
  • Facilitate horizontal working across Category Pods to drive business growth and improvement.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to negotiate business terms and drive cost price management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess and report on commercial performance, delivering KPIs to line managers and stakeholders.
  • Prepare and negotiate annual terms with suppliers.
  • Manage costs and financial forecasting to drive business growth.
  • Operate in line with GSCoP, Competition Law, and Anti-Bribery regulations.

Requirements:

  • Experience working as an Assistant Buyer, Junior Buyer, or equivalent in a similar environment.
  • Expertise in utilising data for strategic decision-making.
  • Continuous improvement mindset and effective performance management skills.
  • Ability to empower others and work collaboratively across boundaries.
