**Job Overview**

LSTMed, a renowned centre of excellence in tropical diseases, is seeking a world-leading immunologist to join our esteemed Tropical Disease Biology department as a Professor of Immunology.

The successful candidate will have the autonomy to shape the research portfolio within immunology at LSTMed, with key areas including research across major human infections, enhancing infection models, and leveraging existing research centres for the discovery of antibody-based biologics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Initiate, develop, deliver, lead and publish research in immunology using innovative methodologies.
  • Enhance the reputation of LSTMed in immunology research.
  • Collaborate with academics in developing capacity for immunology research.
  • Develop a multidisciplinary research programme in human immunology.
  • Lead on innovative curriculum design and quality standards of LSTMed teaching programmes.
  • Articulate and deliver academic vision and leadership.
  • Effectively lead, manage and mentor a team of senior academic and business support staff.

Requirements:

  • PhD or equivalent in a relevant subject area.
  • Extensive knowledge of subject area with a strong research reputation.
  • Proven record of research leadership in a HEI.
  • Experience of academic governance and administration.
