About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join our Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) team at Derbyshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide psychiatric assessments, including risk assessment and management, for children and young people with mental health needs.
  • Manage patients under the care of the CAMHS Crisis and Liaison pathway, including risk assessment and management.
  • Liaise with community teams, family, and agencies supporting children and young people in crisis.
  • Ensure the Mental Health Act is used appropriately, providing medical recommendations for assessments taking place in the community and Suites.
  • Participate in MHA assessments of emergency cases as part of on-call duties.
  • Support colleagues in the T4 CPA discharge reviews to ensure we are minimizing the length of stay in T4 with a focus on enhancing community care packages for CYP being discharged.
Requirements
  • MB BS or equivalent medical qualification.
  • Fully registered with the GMC with a license to practice at the time of application.
  • MRCPsych or equivalent (desirable).
