Job Title: Consultant Psychiatrist in Adult Eating Disorders

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join our team in Adult Eating Disorders. As a Consultant Psychiatrist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality psychiatric care to patients with eating disorders, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement treatment plans.

About the Role

This is a full-time substantive Consultant Post, providing clinical leadership within the new CAMHS Acute Care Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing and treating children and young people with eating disorders, working closely with community teams, family, and agencies to provide comprehensive care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide psychiatric assessments, including assessment of risk to self and others.
  • Manage patients under the care of the CAMHS Crisis and Liaison pathway, including risk assessment and management.
  • Liaise with community teams, family, and agencies supporting children and young people in crisis.
  • Ensure the Mental Health Act is used appropriately, providing medical recommendations for assessments taking place in the community and Suites.
  • Participate in MHA assessments of emergency cases as part of on-call duties.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • MB BS or equivalent medical qualification.
  • Fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practise at the time of application.
  • MRCPsych or equivalent.
