About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join our Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality psychiatric assessments and treatment to children and young people with complex mental health needs.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in child and adolescent psychiatry, with experience in assessing and treating children and young people with a range of mental health conditions. You will be a skilled communicator and team player, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues from a range of disciplines.

The role will involve providing medical leadership and guidance to junior staff, as well as contributing to the development of our CAMHS service. You will have the opportunity to work with a diverse range of children and young people, and to make a positive impact on their lives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide psychiatric assessments and treatment to children and young people with complex mental health needs.
  • Lead and manage a team of junior staff, providing medical guidance and support as needed.
  • Contribute to the development of our CAMHS service, including the development of new treatments and interventions.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues from a range of disciplines to provide comprehensive care to children and young people.
Person Specification
  • MB BS or equivalent medical qualification.
  • Experience in child and adolescent psychiatry, with a strong background in assessing and treating children and young people with complex mental health needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues from a range of disciplines.
