About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Clinical Pharmacist to join our team as a Lead Pharmacist - Antimicrobial Stewardship at Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our pharmacy department, you will play a vital role in developing and implementing strategies to improve antimicrobial stewardship across the trust.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage the delivery of safe and effective antimicrobial stewardship services, ensuring compliance with national guidelines and standards.
  • Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary antimicrobial stewardship team to deliver the trust's antimicrobial stewardship strategy, reducing the development of antimicrobial resistance and promoting prudent use of antimicrobials.
  • Provide expert advice on antimicrobial therapy and stewardship to healthcare professionals, ensuring optimal patient care and outcomes.
  • Monitor and analyze antimicrobial use data, identifying trends and areas for improvement, and implementing evidence-based solutions.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure safe and effective antimicrobial use, including antimicrobial formulary management and patient group directions.
  • Represent the trust in collaborative antimicrobial stewardship activities, contributing to the development and delivery of joint projects with other healthcare organizations.

Person Specification
