Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Clinical Pharmacist to join our dynamic team as a Lead Pharmacist - Antimicrobial Stewardship. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a crucial role in developing and implementing strategies to optimize antimicrobial use and reduce the risk of antimicrobial resistance.

Main Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage the delivery of safe and effective antimicrobial stewardship programs across the Trust.
  • Collaborate with the antimicrobial lead at the Bedford site and work closely with the specialist pharmacist in antimicrobials to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Provide expert advice on antimicrobial use to the broader healthcare team and contribute to antimicrobial ward rounds to maximize pharmaceutical input into patient care.
  • Lead the development of policies and guidelines related to antimicrobial use and stewardship, ensuring alignment with national standards and guidelines.
  • Monitor and analyze antimicrobial use data to identify trends and areas for improvement, and develop strategies to optimize antimicrobial use.
  • Represent the Trust in collaborative antimicrobial stewardship activities and contribute to developing, planning, and delivering joint projects with other healthcare organizations.

Requirements
  • Bachelor/Master of Pharmacy degree
  • GPhC pharmacist registration
