Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Network Asset Manager to lead our water network maintenance and improvement efforts across Southern Water's regions. As a key member of our technical management leadership team, you will be responsible for identifying risks, implementing mitigations, and sponsoring capital funding for large assets on our water network.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Asset Management: Ensure the right capex and opex asset improvement plans are in place to maintain and improve our water network.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks to our water network, ensuring the availability of water to our 2.6 million customers.
  • Team Leadership: Lead a team of field-based expert inspectors, engineers, and office-based project managers to deliver key ODI performance outcome projects.
  • Collaboration: Work with senior leaders in asset management and capital delivery teams to implement a step change in cost, quality, and time.
  • Financial Management: Manage a £1M budget using intelligent investment and analytical decision-making.

Requirements:

  • Technical Expertise: Significant experience in water networks management within the water industry, with strong knowledge of network processes and good exposure to delivering programs within cost, time, and quality.
  • Commercial Acumen: Good understanding of financial management and commercially astute decision-making.
  • Leadership: Proven track record of leading teams and empowering them to deliver key projects.
  • Communication: Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work with external stakeholders.
