Job Summary

The Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service is seeking a highly skilled Finance Project Lead to oversee the implementation of a new finance system. As a key member of the project team, you will partner with our external supplier to deliver the project within agreed timescales.

Key Responsibilities

  • To coordinate workshops at the design stage to ensure that requirements and configurations are clearly documented.
  • To plan and manage the successful migration of historical data from the old system to the new system.
  • To implement new processes and controls to support the finance system implementation and ensure these are fully documented.
  • To oversee the integration of the solution within the existing systems architecture and appropriate interfaces with existing systems.
  • To ensure all security controls are in place in the system, providing users with the necessary access dependent on their roles/departments.
  • To provide training and support to the users of the new system.
  • To manage relevant Finance staff and ensure they have the necessary skills to cover any absence of the Finance Systems manager role.

Requirements

  • Relevant experience working in an accountancy environment.
  • AAT qualified or equivalent.
  • Experience in the administration of computerised financial systems.
  • Able to handle a varied workload within set deadlines.
  • Ability to manage complex issues and have sound analytical and problem solving skills.
